What data we collect

Location data

When you use Fuel Up, we request your device location to find nearby fuel stations. Your location is sent to our server to query nearby stations but is not stored. We do not track your movements or build a location history.

Search queries

Postcodes and addresses you search are used to find stations and are not stored or linked to your identity.

iOS app data

Favourites, price alerts, vehicle settings, and loyalty card numbers are stored locally on your device only using Apple's SwiftData. We do not have access to this data.

Analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services. We do not use cookies for tracking.

Fuel price data

Fuel prices are sourced from the UK Government's Fuel Finder scheme under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Prices are updated every 5 minutes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of prices — always confirm at the pump.

Third-party services

• OpenStreetMap (web app map tiles) — subject to their privacy policy
• Apple MapKit (iOS app maps) — subject to Apple's privacy policy
• Nominatim (web postcode geocoding) — no personal data sent

Data retention

We do not store any personal data on our servers. Fuel price data (station prices, not user data) is retained for up to 90 days to provide price history charts.

Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions, contact us via starlingcloud.com.
