Help & FAQ

Where do the prices come from?

All fuel prices come from the UK Government's Fuel Finder scheme. Every petrol station in the UK is legally required to report price changes within 30 minutes. Our server syncs this data every 5 minutes.

How accurate are the prices?

Prices are as accurate as the data reported by each station. Under the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025, stations face fines of up to 30% of annual turnover for non-compliance. Always confirm the price at the pump.

How do I search for fuel near me?

Enter a UK postcode (e.g. BS5 6HB), address, or place name in the search bar and tap Search. You can also tap the location button to use your current GPS position.

What fuel types are available?

Use the filter chips to switch between E10 (standard unleaded), E5 (super unleaded), Diesel (B7), and Premium Diesel. Not all stations carry all fuel types.

Is there an iOS app?

Yes! The Fuel Up iOS app includes additional features like route planning (find cheapest fuel along your journey), price alerts, favourites, loyalty card savings, CarPlay support, and an Action Button shortcut for quick access while driving.

How do I report an incorrect price?

In the iOS app, tap any station and scroll to the Community section to report a price correction. On the web, please contact us via starlingcloud.com.
